iPhone recordings in your account
Recordings you make in the iOS app are saved on your iPhone, and trill also uploads their audio to your account, so you can replay and study them at trill.ing and on your other devices. You agree to this when you set up the app.
What’s uploaded
The audio of each recording you make, uploaded once you press Stop. Nothing is uploaded while the app isn’t recording.
If you used the app when uploading was optional and had it off, the recordings you made then stay on your iPhone.
The transcript, your notes and your study material sync to your account too, as they do for every recording.
Who can play it
Only you, signed in to your account. The audio is stored with our hosting provider, Cloudflare, in storage that only your account can reach. trill has no sharing features, and we never publish or sell your recordings. See Subprocessors for who helps us run trill.
How long it’s kept
- The full recording is kept for 30 days.
- After that, on a paid plan, only short clips of the sentences you study are kept (your shadowing lines and the lines your vocabulary, grammar and expressions come from). On the free plan the audio is deleted.
- Deleting a recording deletes its audio from our servers. Deleting your account deletes all of it.
- The copy on your iPhone stays until you delete the recording or the app.
Deleting it
Delete a recording, in the app or at trill.ing, and its audio is deleted from our servers. Delete your account and all of it is deleted.
Why we upload
Uploading is part of how trill works: it’s what lets you replay and study your recordings on the web and your other devices, and keep the audio of the lines you study. You agree to it, together with our use of AI services, by ticking both lines on the last step of setting up the app. For the legal details, see our Privacy Policy.
